Sprinkler credit eliminated by Ordinance
Per Ordinance 2024-007, passed by Huntertown Town Council on June 17, 2024, the Summer Sprinkling Credit Program has been eliminated. This change was effective immediately, but residents should expect to see this change beginning with their August bill.
Huntertown promotes the usage of sustainable watering practices such as:
• Watering your lawn and landscape in the early morning or late evening to reduce the effects of evaporation and wind drift.
• Applying mulch to landscaping/plants to maintain moisture.
• Using timers to shut off sprinklers to avoid over-watering.
• Ensuring hoses, power washers, and sprinklers are maintained without water leaks.
• Utilizing rain barrels to water your lawn/plants in the summer to reduce the supply demand for water during the dry months.
